Apocalypse/Disaster Survival Class

If there were a collapse of society tomorrow would you know what to do? Where would you go? What would you bring with you? How would you protect yourself from the hordes of starving desperate people who would kill you for a can of food? How would you provide for your family when the grocery shelves are empty, the faucets don’t run, and your gas and electricity shut off?

People who study collapse scenarios have a saying: Our society is 9 meals from Anarchy. Our grocery stores only have about 3 days of food stocked up, and when they run out, people will start doing whatever they can to survive.

This class will teach you skills to survive an apocalyptic event, or disaster. How to get out of the high danger populated areas to rural and natural environments where you will be safer. It will teach you what to bring with you, where you should go, and how to survive while being virtually invisible to those who will be out looking for people to steal from, and take advantage of.

Part of this class will be actually going through bugging out as if there was a disaster, and starting to go into stealth survival out in the woods. When all hell breaks loose you don’t want it to be your first time using these skills.

Topics covered will include

  • Survial Kits (what to include, and how to use these items)
  • Bug out locations
  • Techniques for surviving in your home or office short term with no utilities
  • Stealth Survival and Living off the land
  • Improvised camouflage
  • Defense and weaponry. Including setting traps.
    • Hand to hand techniques
    • Knife and machete defense and offense
    • Stick defense and offense
    • Gun disarms and use
    • Man-traps
  • Escaping if you are captured and detained.
  • Moving undetected across the landscape as a group and alone.

This class will be 3 days long, from 10 AM on the first day until 4 pm on the third day. The cost is 235$ per person, and is limited to people 18 and older.

Buckskin Class

In this class you will take your raw deer hide all the way through the tanning process to turn it into beautiful, soft, durable leather that is perfect for making clothes, moccasins, bags, packs, pouches, knife sheaths, and anything else you can think of. Buckskin was the premier clothing material for the Natives and frontiersman of this continent for a few reasons: It is extremely durable and strong, It has good breathability, it’s warm, it’s soft and supple, it blocks wind, it’s a good base color for camouflaging, and it masks your scent when hunting.

The tanning process involves a lot of physical work and takes a good amount of time, but the result is definitely worth it, and brain or egg tanned hides sell for around 200 to 400$ per hide.

This class is 2 days long and will run for about 6 to 8 hours each day, but weather, humidity and temperature can make it take more or less time. The cost of the class is 125$, and is limited to people 14 and older (if under 18 you must attend with an adult).
